Denison Community School District

Inspiring Tomorrow's Leaders

The program is a partnership between Iowa State University, Denison Community School District and Farmland Foods through Smithfield Foods/Learners to Leaders. The partnership between the Denison Community School District and Iowa State's Science Bound has spanned over 15 years.

The Denison Science Bound program began in 2007 with funding from Smithfield Foods. Smithfield has remained the program’s primary funding source.

In 2023-2024, the high school program is working with a Science Bound graduate student, and students have learned how to pipette, create DNA models, and participated many more exciting STEM activities!

Middle school students began the year with an orientation on Iowa State's campus with 8th-grade students from Marshalltown and Clarke, and then they competed in a series of team-building challenges.
