The United Negro College Fund and The Merck Company Foundation have established scholarship awards for outstanding African American students pursuing studies and careers in the field of biomedical research. Undergraduate, Graduate & Postdoctoral.

ACS Scholars Program and Co-Sponsored Programs

(Deadline is February each year)

The goal of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program is to aid in building an awareness of the values and rewards associated with careers in the chemical sciences and to assist students in acquiring the skills and credentials needed for success in these areas.

Science Essay Awards Program: the DuPont CHALLENGE

Competition involves you, the student, with the help of your teacher. The DuPONT CHALLENGE is an essay discussing a scientific or technological development, event or theory that has captured your interest and attention.

AHETEMS Scholarships

The Advancing Hispanic Excellence in Technology, Engineering, Math and Science (AHETEMS) Foundation (pronounced A-Teams), in partnership with SHPE and other organizations, has been working exclusively to develop educational enrichment and academic outreach initiatives, for Latinos/as, that extend throughout the pre-college to PhD pathway.

Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP)

Are you a hands-on learner? Are you interested in addressing 21st Century problems associated with energy, food, water, education and the environment that impact peoples’ lives? ABE is currently offering a new scholarship program for multicultural freshman scholars enrolling in fall 2010. Receive $4,500 per year (renewable for four years) for educational expenses such as tuition, room and board, books and fees.

ISU Agriculture Scholarship

For incoming freshmen and undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Agriculture at ISU.

ISU College of Human Sciences Scholarship

For incoming freshmen and undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Human Sciences at ISU.

ISU Biochemistry and Biophysics Scholarship

Information for incoming freshmen and undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences majoring in Biochemistry and Biophysics at ISU.

E:TEC Scholarship

Offers a $500 scholarship for ISU engineering students that demonstrate good academic performance (3.0 GPA or above). The scholarship is sponsored by the National Science Foundation. First-generation, women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Applications due March 10.

E2020 Scholarship

Offers up to $10,000 for Iowa State engineering students over four year period. Student must possess the qualities and characteristics of a great engineering leader and demonstrate good academic performance (3.00 GPA or above). The E2020 scholarship is sponsored by the National Science Foundation. First-generation, women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Application due March 10.
