SCIENCE BOUND
in the
Marshalltown Community School District

The goal of the Marshalltown SCIENCE BOUND program continues to be to prepare and empower diverse Iowa students to pursue careers and earn college degrees in science-related fields.

After two years as a pilot program launched with funding by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration through Iowa State University’s SCIENCE BOUND program, in 2008-2009 the Marshalltown SCIENCE BOUND program was supported 90% by Emerson/Fisher Controls, the Martha Ellen Tye Foundation, and Iowa State University.

The past academic year has been one of institutionalizing programmatic components proven effective in the Des Moines SCIENCE BOUND program while researching the special needs and nuances of the Marshalltown community in order to implement the most effective program possible.
