SCIENCE BOUND in the Marshalltown

Community School District

 

The Springbrook Overnight Natural Sciences Experience is often one of the most memorable activities for SCIENCE BOUND students. Denison students join Miller Middle School students from Marshalltown for the overnight.

Jay Staker, ISU extension youth development specialist, teaches students how to use a GPS (global positioning system).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Students also participated in an orienteering and compass activity and compared that method of location to GPS. A.J. Winker from Springbrook assists student.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Students learn to process their experiences and consider how their actions, choices and activities impact their future.
