SCIENCE BOUND in the
Des Moines Public Schools

SCIENCE BOUND and the Des Moines Public Schools have been partners in education since 1990.

Each year, approximately 175 students in the ten middle and five high schools participate in the program. Nearly 50 SCIENCE BOUND graduates are on the Iowa State campus.

Parent Meeting

An overflowing crowd came out for the parent meeting at North High School on November 13. Dr. Connie Hargrave told parents that it is important to share theirstories of tenacity in order to encourage their young people to excel. Parents also had the opportunity to network with other families. The next parent meeting will be in March.

 

Springbrook Natural Sciences Experience

Students in the Eighth Grade Preparatory Program each year head to Springbrook Conservation Education Center in Guthrie Center, Iowa, for an overnight natural sciences experience. Here students conduct a water quality activity . For more images from Springbrook, click here.
