CATALYST Program

The CATALYST Leadership Program grew out of SCIENCE BOUND’s 2007 Learn and Earn summer program. To train students to provide peer support and help them hone their leadership skills, a more comprehensive academic-year program needed to be developed. With funding from the Alcoa Foundation, the CATALYSTS are building their skills and using them within SB, the greater Des Moines Public School (DMPS) system, and the community.

The program is open to all SB high school students. The program is under the leadership of Crosby Lester, East High SB teacher. For more information, contact the SB teacher at your school.

All meetings are at 4:45 pm at North High School in the Library:

CATALYSTs often serve as science fair judges for Des Moines Public School programs.
